Head of Global PR and Communications at Ganni, Victoria Halbye, thrives with a life full of contrasts; from fashion weeks and city life to quiet weekends in the countryside. When she and her family leave the everyday routines and travel to Bognæs for the weekends, they embrace the freedom of spontanity; always seeking new adventures based on mood, nature and the seasons.

What we do in the countryside really depends on the weather and the season. During the Winter we love to bring a basket with us and make a bonfire in the woods. During the Summer we enjoy sailing and being outside all day. Also we love foraging in the nature, picking wild garlic in the Spring, berries in the Summer and mushrooms during the Autumn.

From a busy life in London to moving to Copenhagen, having two kids in two years and working full time at Ganni, Victoria appreciates the quietness, when she is at Bognæs with her family.

Bognæs is our second home and it is the perfect contrast to our busy everyday life. When we arrive in the countryside, all four of us instantly feel more relaxed. We really enjoy the fresh air and the quietness out here.

I see the greatest happiness in our children’s eyes, when we are all doing something together - without having to rush. I feel that children can instantly sense if we are busy and don't really take the time to be together and to be fully present.

When Victoria dress her kids she wants it to be both comfortable and practical and she often finds herself dressing Leonora & Vincent in matching clothes.

When I dress our kids in the morning, I always think about the weather and try to dress them in a way that is both comfortable and suitable for a day outside. And actually they often wear matching clothes.

It is obvious to see how Victorias two kids Leonora (3) & Vincent (1) feel comfortable being surround by nature and animals; from kissing the big horses to playing with the chickens and their five little kittens running around in the barn.

"We are not really teaching our kids about nature and wildlife in any way deliberate. As we spend so much time here at Bognæs, nature and animals are a natural part of our children’s lives. They are incredibly curious and eager to participate in everything we do, so in a very natural way, I think, they learn a lot of new things every time we are here."

There is always room for guests and spontanity at Bognæs and it seems like the place is always filled with laungther and love.

"Fortunately our children thrive without too many fixed routines which makes it easy for us to be spontaneous and adventurous both during both the week and weekends."
